My love.

I love music.

Not a moment of my life goes by where there is not a song playing in my head. I  have spent many the university exam using spare paper to write the lyrics of my favourite songs instead of scaffolding my ideas on 'Women in Contemporary Society' or the 'Sigmund Freud's theories on the unconscious mind' YAWN.

One thing that grinds my gears though is when I ask someone what type of music they are into and they say "All different types".
That just means that they like many different types but don't love any!

When I was in a bar in Switzerland I got talking to a British fella, probably a little younger than me and we got to chatting about life and ultimately it led into what types of music we both enjoyed. After I had gushed for what seemed like hours on my favourite artists and bands it was his turn to reply and he said,
"Many different types."
"Like what?"
"You know, a little bit of everything."
"Name someone" I pushed ever so eloquently, but did this poor young man want to reveal anything to me?  No. So it was adios to him.

Now I concluded that he either was embarrassed of his music taste or he was one of those rare people who don't really enjoy music. Which is something hard to fathom but hey, each to their own, I don't like cats. No judgement.

Now to disprove and completely contradict my opinion on those who state they like all different types when asked, I well and truly LOVE all different types.

As stated earlier my favourites are quickly to be listed. I love the 60's, 70's and 90's stuff the most but that doesn't mean that I am not convinced that I am an undiscovered rap superstar who has many the dream of being married to Snoop Dogg. Weird and creepy, yes definitely. I also can't help myself when it comes to belting out Miley Cyrus' 'Party In the USA' or 'Not ready to make nice' by The Dixie Chicks.
I've learnt to not be ashamed of these interesting song choices, but to embrace them.

A good song, is a good song.
