It began in Africa.

So today is my 24th birthday.
Normally I would spend the day weeping silently into my pillow trying to fight the depression of getting another year older and more haggard, but this year there is no time for a quarter life crisis.
For tomorrow I head of on my lonesome to the land of 'The Lion King'- Kenya!

Now I have travelled quite a bit before, even on a solo journey to the U.S.A. This time I am a little more nervous. On new years day I was on a boozy boat cruise around Sydney harbour and I got chatting to a few people and my trip came up and I admitted to being a little terrified. One lovely lady said that being scared is a good thing, and that I should hold onto this feeling as it shows that you are alive and living. I don't think I am rephrasing it well enough to give her credit, but in a way it made sense to me!
I need to realise that being a little apprehensive is fine, but I also need to realise what I am about to do is very exciting and fingers crossed a wonderful experience!
So in attempts to get me in the mood for my adventure, I watched 'The Lion King', packed my bag (probably the worst thing about travelling anywhere', downloaded music for the perfect African playlist, and googled images to make me excited.

I have said every single one of those things.
Many times!
Especially all those about Ryan Gosling.
